Why sugar?

Sugar isn't paleo, and after seeing these ingredients....being Paleo is questionable. I'm sorry....yes..the one bite I had was very good, but I knew it had sugar in it immediately. I'm hoping its a natural sugar, like Coconut, or a Maple, perhaps? Thank you for any info, I really do appreciate it.
